Ed Alizadeh, P.E., J.D.
As
President and CEO of Geotechnology, Inc., Ed Alizadeh is responsible
for management of the firm's engineering activities and
administrative operations. His technical background features
extensive experience in environmental consulting including the
management of major projects, such as the current expansion of
Lambert St. Louis International Airport, which involved the
assessment of over 1,700 homes and 50 businesses that were displaced.
Alizadeh joined Geotechnology in 1989 as a staff engineer after spending 5 years as a petroleum engineer with Amoco Production Company in New Mexico. Geotechnology was just entering the underground storage tank (UST) assessment and remediation market and Alizadeh was immediately thrust into that work. The firm quickly utilized Alizadeh’s understanding of the petroleum business to get a foothold in the UST market, and within 5 years, Alizadeh was promoted to Project Manager and then Environmental Department Manager. He helped the firm earn the lead UST consulting position with Texaco, Mobil Oil and Shell Oil in St. Louis and Kansas City. Alizadeh has served as an industry expert in many UST related matters.
In 1996, Alizadeh was promoted to President of Geotechnology. He has overseen the continued growth of Geotechnology, including the opening of the two branch offices in Illinois and Kansas. Alizadeh is a firm believer in strategic planning and the organization has effectively used that process to develop successful initiatives such as geographic expansion and the market based organization established in January 2004. The market based approach has better aligned the company with its clients in the Industrial, Development and Transportation/Infrastructure segments. He also firmly adheres to and promotes the corporate core values of responsiveness, quality, partnership/teamwork, and integrity.
Alizadeh is very active in ASFE, the Best People on Earth, which is a national organization representing the business interests of the geotechnical and environmental consulting industry. He served as Vice-Chair of ASFE’s Geo-environmental committee, Chair of the Legal Affairs committee, Chair of the Labor Relations Task Force, and was elected to the Board of Directors in April 2005. Alizadeh also served on the Board of ACECMo. He is a strong believer in giving back to the community and has participated in the MS 150 bike ride, Habitat for Humanity work days, cancer walks and many others. He is most involved with Kids in the Middle, a St. Louis based charity that provides counseling services for children and parents whose families are going through transition primarily due to divorce. Ed has served on the Board of Kids in the Middle and is currently the President of the Board.
Alizadeh earned a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa and a Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University School of Law. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, and Iowa, and is a licensed Attorney in the state of Missouri.
