John Bostwick, R.G.


In 2007 John Bostwick became the Drilling Group Manager after being Assistant Drilling Group Manager, Project Manager and Senior Geologist. Bostwick has honed his skills through these varied capacities since joining Geotechnology in 1992 preparing to take on the ultimate coordination responsibility at the firm. Bostwick is tasked with coordinating and managing a team of 22 drillers, the St. Louis fleet of seven drill rigs, the drilling needs of all geotechnical and environmental projects, and daily changes in schedule and scope plus unexpected events.


Bostwick is responsible for overall leadership of day-to-day St. Louis-based drilling operations, financial management of the group, marketing and proposal development. Over the past 15 years, Bostwick's professional experience has included soils and materials testing, pier inspections, field geologist duties and geotechnical lab supervisor duties. Bostwick joined the Drilling Technical Group in 1998 and during the past nine years, he's been involved in and/or managed a wide variety of drilling/sampling projects. He possesses a high level of experience with the installation of monitoring wells, piezometers, and geotechnical instrumentation. Over the course of his 15 years with Geotechnology, Inc., Bostwick has become proficient at scoping and pricing most drilling/well installation projects.


Bostwick has worked on many notable projects for the company, including Enbridge and Keystone Pipelines, Lambert-St. Louis International Airport Runway Expansion, Metrolink, IDOT - I-64 and I-70 redesign project including the New Mississippi River Bridge, Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels Facility, Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project, and the USACOE FUSRAP sites.


Bostwick focuses heavily on safety when managing his group. His management approach is to train our employees to be ahead of the industry curve in areas of safety, innovation, and drilling expertise. With this foundation in place, Geotechnology can improve efficiency and cost effectiveness for our clients needs.


Bostwick is a Registered Geologist in Missouri and Illinois. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He is a member of the National Drilling Association (NDA) and Association of Engineering and Environmental Geologists (AEG). In his community, he is involved with his church, kids school, and coaching his kids sports, including soccer, hockey and baseball.
